“…Like Clockwork”- Queens Of The Stone Age
4.5/5. Josh Homme must be a really nice guy, or at the very least, really likable. The man has collaborated with so many people on this album, and previously, he was able to get the most reclusive former member of Led Zeppelin (bassist John Paul Jones) to join his band Them Crooked Vultures. On this album, he is joined by Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Elton John, Alex Turner (lead singer/guitarist of the Arctic Monkeys), and Jake Shears (of Scissor Sisters), among others. It works so very well too, all of them together with Homme and the rest of QOTSA to make a very solid album. When it comes to stoner rock, the genre that Homme helped invent, there’s nothing better than QOTSA, and they continue to prove that. This is a great album. The first couple songs aren’t amazing, which, for me, keeps this from being a perfect album, but the rest of it is great, definitely worth listening to. Highlights include: “I Appear Missing”, “Kalopsia” and “My God Is The Sun”.
